Tunisian President dismisses Minister of Defense and Minister of Justice

Tunisian President Kais Saied issued a presidential order deciding to dismiss Hicham Mechichi, Prime Minister in charge of managing the affairs of the Ministry of the Interior, Ibrahim El-Bertaji, Minister of National Defense, and Hasna Ben Suleiman, Minister to the Prime Minister in charge of public service and Acting Minister of Justice, according to a statement published since The official page of the Tunisian presidency is on the social networking site "Facebook".

The statement indicated that according to the same order, it was decided that the secretaries-general or those charged with administrative and financial affairs at the head of the government and the aforementioned ministries would handle their administrative and financial affairs until a new prime minister and new members were named.

The Tunisian presidency issued a

statement yesterday evening, saying that after consultation with

both the Prime Minister and the

President of the

People 's

Congress, and pursuant to

Chapter 80 of the

Constitution, took the

President of the

Republic Qais Said, the

following resolutions in

order to safeguard the

homeland body and the

security of the

country and its

independence and ensure the

normal functioning of the

rims state:


- Relieving Prime Minister Hisham Al-Mashishi,


- Freezing the work and powers of Parliament for a period of 30 days.


Lifting the parliamentary immunity of all members of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People.


The President of the Republic assumes the executive authority with the assistance of a government headed by a Prime Minister and appointed by the President of the Republic.

The Presidency of the Republic called on the Tunisian people to pay attention and not to slip behind the advocates of chaos.
