SMHI has issued the highest fire risk forecast in several parts of south-eastern Sweden, including Stockholm, Uppsala, Norrköping and Gotland.
- This means that there is a stricter fire ban, you are not allowed to use open fire in forests and land, says Torbjörn Mattsson.
There are several reasons why a forest fire occurs.
Human behavior which may be that a fire has not been extinguished properly, sparks from forest machines or thunder.
It is above all the dry grass that poses the greatest fire risk.
- It burns like paper, says Torbjörn Mattsson.
It is the county administrative board that issues fire bans, which they have done in Uppsala.
Torbjörn Mattsson therefore now appeals not to light a fire in the forest.
- Bring ready-made food from home, you must not start a fire, he says.
