The new statistics, which SVT has read, show that 1,906 patients were diagnosed in Östergötland with postcovid, which is 4.1 cases per 1,000 inhabitants.

This means that the region has the second highest number of patients with postcovid per 1,000 inhabitants.

Jönköping is at the top, with 4.2 diagnoses, and the national average is 2.4.

On Gotland, 105 patients have postcovid, which is 1.7 diagnoses per 1,000 inhabitants.

However, Region Gotland has only reported figures for public care, thus figures from private primary care are not included.

The data was obtained from the country's different regions between the end of June and mid-July and shows how many have been diagnosed postcovid from mid-October 2020.

Mirjam Schimanke, doctor at covid-19 Follow-up clinic in Norrköping, explains why she believes that Östergötland has the second highest proportion of cases.
