The detained man is in his 40s and must for at least six months have driven his 17-year-old daughter-in-law from the home in Falkenberg municipality to a shop in Varberg municipality where the girl was then allowed to sit and beg, something that P4 Halland was the first to report.

- This is the first case of this kind in Halland, says prosecutor Sonja Seligmann to SVT Nyheter Halland.

In an earlier case in Sweden, the accused was sentenced to four months in prison.

The detained man denies any wrongdoing.
