Shortly after half past one on Monday afternoon, an alarm came about a forest fire outside Örnsköldsvik.

Barely two hours later, the rescue service still had no control over the fire.

- It burns in an area of about 75 times 200 meters, says internal commander Mattias Andersson.

He continues:

- We do not have control of the fire yet.

We're trying to get a helicopter there now.

If we are lucky, they will remain in Sollefteå and then maybe we can get one here within an hour or so.

According to Mattias Andersson, it is most likely that yesterday's thunderstorm is the cause of the fire.

- We have a few more going on now also where the lightning has caused fires, he says.

Due to this, the rescue service has gone into staff mode to strengthen.
