China News Service, July 26. According to Agence France-Presse, on the 25th local time, the British capital London was struck by thunderstorms, roads were flooded, and buses and other vehicles were trapped in the flood.

  The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan stated on social networking sites that emergency services are responding to "severe floods across London."

He added that all public transportation services are affected and people are advised to avoid walking or driving through flooded areas.

  Social media users posted videos of some vehicles being flooded in southwest London. As a wave of thunderstorms swept southeast England, more heavy rain is expected.

  The Met Office issued weather warnings in London and surrounding areas.

The Bureau of Meteorology warned that there is a risk of lightning strikes and floods, and some areas are expected to receive as much as 10 cm of rain, almost twice the monthly average in July.

  As three double-decker buses were trapped under the railway bridge, the police had blocked the road near the Queenstown Road station in southwest London. A bus driver said that passengers had to get off and walk due to water in the car.

The Wasastau area in the northeast suburb of London was also torrentially raining, and some motorists abandoned their cars.

  The police said they were “currently dealing with multiple floods in the eastern region” and warned that tunnels and roundabouts were flooded.
