Hälsinge Market is one of Sweden's oldest markets and is said to date back to the 16th century.

The market has only been shut down three times in modern times, at the outbreak of war in 1939 and 2020 in connection with the corona pandemic.

That the organizers now choose to go out with information that it will be canceled again this year, describes marketing general Hans Bäckström as a formality.

- It is never an option to run a corona-adapted version, we reasoned about it but it is not possible to handle 60,000 visitors infection-proof.

We want to take our responsibility and not risk anyone getting sick, but it is painful when it comes to a lot of money for the associations.

The fact that it has now been two years without markets is something that has hit the jackpot hard.

- Many bangs that risk having to stop now.

It is now two years now without markets, at best they can be up and running in the spring, says Hans Bäckström.
