Covid patients who have been in intensive care for a long time have received rehabilitation help since the start of the pandemic, and in recent months the rehabilitation has been extended to also include those who have had long-term problems despite a milder covid disease in the beginning.

Depending on the patient's symptoms, the rehabilitation may include physiotherapy, lung examinations, work training and breathing exercises.

Specialists make an overall assessment

Now these efforts will be gathered under one roof in the form of a postcovid reception.

- Primary care is still the hub so that you get a correct diagnosis, but this autumn we will have multidisciplinary rounds where specialists from different parts of the hospital can gather and together assess how patients can get the best help, says Anna Domeij, chief physician at geriatrics and the rehab unit at Falu Hospital.

- It is also important to make sure that it is the covide that it depends on, so that we can rule out other treatable diseases or problems with the heart, for example, she continues.

In the video, the chief physician talks about which treatment methods have been most important based on what they have learned so far.
