Almost two years after the start of the affair, Credit Suisse reached an out-of-court settlement with its former star banker, Iqbal Khan.

This alleged case of spinning also led to the departure of the group's general manager, Tidjane Thiam.

This is a terse statement from a spokesperson for Credit Suisse.

According to a Swiss newspaper which had revealed the information, the agreement will allow the dropping of criminal complaints filed by Iqbal Khan against the bank and private detectives.

But the case may still leave traces since a spokesperson for the Federal Financial Market Supervisory Authority assured that the proceedings launched last year against the banking establishment were still ongoing, without providing more details.

The former CEO cleared

However, this case has several episodes. It all started with the revelation of this alleged shadowing of Iqbal Khan after his departure to join competing bank UBS. A few months later, Credit Suisse admitted having spied on a former human resources director. Then a new twist in February 2020, when the

revealed that the Greenpeace organization had been infiltrated.

The former Franco-Ivorian director general of the bank then declared that he had no knowledge of the spinning mills.

An internal investigation carried out after the first revelation had also cleared him.

But according to several sources this accumulation of scandals had strained relations between Tidjane Thiam and Urs Rohner, the then president of Credit Suisse.
