This, according to RIA Novosti, said the prosecutor in the hall of the 235th garrison military court.

It is noted that the defendants in the case are the former head of the food department of the Ministry of Defense Alexander Berezhnoy, the former expert of the food department Alexei Grinyuk, the former head of the department for conducting competitive procedures for the state order of the state procurement department Yuri Reshetnikov, as well as the former head of the technical support department of the food department Alexander Vakulin.

In March, it became known that the former deputy head of the department of the Russian Ministry of Defense for competitive procedures, Alexander Boruvkov, was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for fraud with state contracts worth 650 million rubles and a bribe in the amount of 368 million rubles.

The IC reported that in the period from February 2014 to August 2017, Boruvkov, managing the department (conducting competitive procedures for the state defense order) and being the chairman of the auction commissions when holding auctions for the procurement of various property for the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defense in Moscow, created obstacles commercial organizations to participate in the placement of state orders, which eliminated competition and ensured the conclusion of state contracts with commercial organizations controlled by businessman Alexei Kalitin.

As a result, government contracts were concluded on conditions unfavorable for the Russian Federation and the state, represented by the Russian Ministry of Defense, suffered damage in the amount of over 650 million rubles.

It was also reported that the preliminary investigation against other members of the organized group is ongoing.
