Authority, Chambers elect Privacy Guarantor and Agcom members

14 July 2020 The Senate elected the members of the Authorities in the afternoon. As reported in the Chamber President Elizabeth Casellati, for the College of the Guarantor for the Protection of Personal Data (Privacy) we expressed 272 senators and elected representatives are Agostino Ghiglia by 123 votes and Pasquale Stanzione with 121.

With regard to the Authority for guarantees in communications (Agcom), the voting senators were 272 and the elected are Laura Aria with 123 votes and Elisa Giomi with 110 votes.

"As a sign of dissent both in terms of substance and method, Italia Viva did not consider it appropriate to participate in the vote for the election of the members of the Communications Authority and the Privacy Guarantor". Silvia Fregolent declares it, deputy of Italia Viva.

Subsequently, the Chamber elected Antonello Giacomelli and Enrico Mandelli as members of the Communications Authority as well as Guido Scorza and Ginevra Cerrina Feroni as members of the Privacy Guarantor. Giacomelli received 211 votes and Mandelli 202. The votes for Sforza were 237 and those of Cerrina Ferroni 209. The voters were 523.
