“Due to small quotas, no more than 28-30 thousand people per month will be able to fly in such a capacity, and this is extremely small for direct flights.

The potential demand could be at least 100-150 thousand people, "- Dmitry Gorin, vice-president of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), told RIA Novosti.

He recalled that flights from Russia to Egypt will be organized on a parity basis and noted that the current flights to Cairo from Russia are carried out in the regular status, which means that flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh are also likely to be regular.

Russia has resumed flights with Egyptian resorts since August 9, the operational headquarters for combating coronavirus infection said.

According to the decision of the headquarters, flights Moscow - Hurghada and Moscow - Sharm el-Sheikh will be operated five times a week on each route.

In early July, President Vladimir Putin canceled a decree that prohibited Russian airlines from flying to Egyptian resorts.

Vice-President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry Yuri Barzykin, in an interview with URA.RU, commented on this message.
