As noted in the explanatory note, the project "is aimed at legalizing the assignment of state registration plates with a" special "series, that is, numbers that have mirrored or identical sets of numbers and (or) letters."
Any citizen participating in the auction will be able to apply for such numbers, and not only those persons who have certain connections in the structures of the State Traffic Inspectorate, the author notes.
According to him, the state gives a person a choice: if it does not matter to him what registration plate he will be assigned, he only pays the state fee for the registration actions, and if he has, he will be able to offer his price at the auction.
If adopted, the law will make it possible to replenish the road funds of the regions, since it is planned to direct the collected funds to them.
In May, the Izvestia newspaper reported that the Criminal Code may become responsible for the deliberate and regular use of counterfeit license plates on cars.
