A program to explore national talents in genetics, astronomy and technology

Sandooq Al Watan, the community initiative of a group of Emirati businessmen, with the aim of supporting the creation of a better future for future generations, launched the “Johns Hopkins Summer Program for the Mawhibtuna Initiative”, which is held in cooperation with the Center for Gifted Youth at Johns Hopkins University, to explore emerging talents in various fields, including It includes genetics, astronomy, mathematics, medicine, engineering, technology, physics and climate change.

This program comes as part of the "Mawhibatna" initiative, which aims to discover 2,000 talented Emirati students, and seeks to support and sponsor at least 500 of them, and direct them to enroll in the best universities in the world.

Sandooq Al Watan Director General, Hind Tayeb Baqer, said: “The program forms an essential part within an integrated system followed by Sandooq Al Watan to advance talents and develop their knowledge and scientific capabilities, in line with the leadership’s directives, and in line with the state’s directions to qualify a generation of leaders and scholars in all fields that serve our path to achieve Our country’s goals in the next 50 years are to be the best countries in the world and a global center for advanced knowledge and sciences.”

She stressed the importance of this program, which contributes to making the most of school students' free time, and works to develop the scientific capabilities and capabilities, and practical experiences of the largest group of talented people at an early age, to qualify them and prepare them to lead and continue the development and prosperity process that the country is witnessing at various levels.

She added: "Our focus is on attracting the best scientific talents and enabling them to develop through a system of continuous learning, which is represented in a set of courses offered within a knowledge and educational environment, supervised by pioneers and experts specialized in the most prestigious universities, and based on best practices that meet the aspirations of young people, It expands their knowledge and scientific horizons, and helps them develop their skills and capabilities in promising future fields, including design, technology and environmental conservation.”

The activities of the program in its session this year, which started the day before yesterday and will continue until the fifth of next August, include 11 intensive courses in key sectors, including courses on the use of Arduino models to design interactive electronic projects, and others on the phenomenon of climate change, and how to save Scientist, roller coaster physics, medical diagnosis and engineering design, and other courses include theories of strategic behavior, genetics, microbiology, mathematical laws, and proof of mathematical facts, as well as courses in stellar evolution, and the psychology of memory.
