The British health minister, who had contracted COVID-19, apologized after being hit by a headwind when he announced the news of his recovery.

Health Minister Sajid Zabid said on Twitter on the 24th (local time) that he had recovered from COVID-19, saying, "We decided to live together rather than cower because we were scared of the virus, so if you haven't been vaccinated yet, go get it." The BBC reported on the 25th that it received strong criticism from the opposition party and the bereaved family.

Health Minister Javid eventually deleted the post and apologized for using the word incorrectly.

Javid tested positive last week, and Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Treasury Secretary Rishi Sunak who came in contact with him have been quarantined.

Because of this, Prime Minister Johnson had to hold a press conference via video on the 19th, the 'Freedom Day' to lift all restrictions on COVID-19.

The Corona 19 survivors' group denounced it as "very insensitive remarks," while the opposition Labor Party criticized it for downplaying those who followed the rules.

Even after Javid's apology, the bereaved family has repeatedly called for a visit to the wall of remembrance of the victims of COVID-19 in London to understand the pain and humiliation caused by his words.

Javid, who served as Prime Minister Johnson's first finance secretary, is more of a supporter of COVID-19 deregulation than former health secretary Matt Hancock, who stepped down last month.

In the UK, the secondary vaccination rate is 70%, but the number of confirmed cases is tens of thousands a day.

In response, Chand Nagpol, chairman of the British Medical Association (BMA) recently announced an urgent position that the government should reconsider its strategy to lift quarantine restrictions.

Earlier, Prime Minister Boris Johnson was reported to have opposed the lockdown last fall and said that only those over the age of 80 would die, but did not respond to a request for an apology.
