According to Tikhanovskaya, at such meetings “it is difficult to get any promises,” but she assured that she had made every effort to explain the situation in Belarus.

Last week, the leader of the Belarusian opposition met with the US President's National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. The White House noted that Washington will continue to hold the Belarusian authorities "accountable for their actions," including through sanctions.
