Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin requested a report on the investigation of the criminal case into the death of the Minister of Digital Development and Communications of the Amur Region Alexander Kurdyukov, the press service of the department reports.

It is noted that the man was injured on July 17 in one of the boarding houses located in the suburbs of Blagoveshchensk.

He subsequently died in a medical facility.

"Alexander Bastrykin instructed the leadership of the territorial investigative body to submit a detailed report on the circumstances of the criminal case and put the course of the investigation under personal control," the message says.

According to a press release from the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Amur Region, a 39-year-old man was detained on suspicion of causing death to the victim.

According to the investigation, on the evening of July 17, in the company of vacationers, a conflict occurred between two men, as a result of which one of them inflicted bodily harm on the other.

The victim sustained a head injury.

He was taken to the hospital - despite the efforts of doctors, he died on July 24.

Information about the hospitalization of Alexander Kurdyukov appeared in the media on July 22.

According to the regional prosecutor's office, on the fact of causing serious health to Alexander Kurdyukov, the inter-municipal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Blagoveshchenskiy" opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Art.

111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, dangerous to human life").

The sanction under this article is imprisonment for up to eight years.

On behalf of the Prosecutor of the Amur Region, Alexander Buchman, this criminal proceeding was transferred for investigation to the Investigative Committee.

"In order to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the victim, to comply with reasonable terms of criminal proceedings, the prosecutor's office of the city of Blagoveshchensk withdrew the criminal case from the police and transferred it to the investigation department for the city of Blagoveshchensk of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Amur Region," the message says.
