This is reported by TASS with reference to the data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"In the first half of 2021, 180 accidents involving personal mobility equipment were registered in Russia, five people died and 188 were injured in these incidents," the agency's source said.

The department focused on the fact that the country has not yet defined the status of electric scooters and similar vehicles - this issue is now being worked out in the Ministry of Transport.

Last week, the traffic police of Russia reminded of the rules for using personal mobility equipment and urged to comply with them.

Deputy of the LDPR faction, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma for Transport Alexander Starovoitov, commenting on the idea of banning the use of electric scooters in Russia, noted that such measures require serious improvements.
