Shoigu said that "in the military history of the Fatherland there are many significant events that cause pride for the country and its Navy, including the triumphant victory of Russian sailors in the Battle of Chesme on July 7, 1770," Shoigu said.

“Opening the bas-relief dedicated to the battle in the Chesme Bay, we pay tribute to the naval sailors, their merits in protecting the national interests of the state,” the minister said.
