It was in March this year that two men robbed a man in his 70s in his home in Ätran.

The robbers, 40 and 62 years old respectively, took with them a fishing rod, underpants and an ax.

The next night, the men were back in search of valuables.

This time, the older man was threatened with getting an amphetamine syringe in his leg and having his fingers amputated.

Instead, he should have been hit in the head with the flat side of the stolen ax.

He was then forced into a car but managed to escape when the car stopped at a forest road.

The 40-year-old is sentenced in Varberg District Court to two years and six months in prison for, among other things, robbery, assault and unlawful threats. The 62-year-old is sentenced to one year and two months in prison for unlawful threats and robbery.
