"At present, a 39-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of causing death to the victim," says a statement on the website of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the region.
According to the investigation, on the evening of July 17, 2021, a conflict occurred between the suspect and Kurdyukov, as a result of which the minister received a head injury.
He later died in hospital.
A criminal case was initiated on the fact of the incident.
Earlier, the governor of the Amur region, Vasily Orlov, announced the death of the head of the Ministry of Finance of the region, Alexander Kurdyukov.
