Yesterday, the Ministry of Health and Community Protection announced that 232,307 new tests had been conducted to discover and count cases infected with the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19) and those who were in contact with it, and to isolate them.
The expansion of examinations at the state level contributed to the detection of 1,528 new cases of the virus, bringing the total number of registered cases to 671,636 cases.
The ministry also announced the death of four people from the repercussions of infection with the virus.
This brings the number of deaths in the country to 1920.
The ministry expressed its condolences to the families of the deceased, and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
It also announced the recovery of 1,491 new cases of people infected with the virus, bringing the total number of recovery cases to 649,173.
The Ministry announced that it had provided 51,073 doses of the “Covid-19” vaccine, bringing the total doses it provided, as of yesterday, to 16,495,917 doses, and the vaccine distribution rate is 166.79 doses per 100 people.
