Despite the ban on an event, smaller groups of opponents of the Corona measures met in Kassel on Saturday.

According to the press office of the police headquarters in North Hesse from Saturday lunchtime, their number is in the lower three-digit range.

If possible, they would be checked and expelled.

Two people were reportedly arrested for violating the assembly ban and eviction.

According to the police, around 90 people took part in a permitted counter-event.

The demonstration started quietly.

In advance, the city had banned a planned event by opponents of the Corona policy with around 3,000 announced participants.

Both the Hessian Administrative Court (VGH) and the Administrative Court in Kassel had confirmed the ban.

They justified their decisions mainly with the experiences of previous "lateral thinkers" meetings, especially on March 20 in Kassel.

At that time, more than 20,000 participants marched through the city at a demonstration against the Corona measures.

Only 6,000 were allowed. Many of them had not complied with the judicial requirements such as the mask requirement.

In some cases, there had been violent clashes.

The police were already on site at noon with a large contingent. According to the police spokesman, the number of officers deployed is in the lower four-digit range.
