Earlier, the head of "Gazprom" Alexey Miller told under what condition the company is ready to increase the volume of gas transit through Ukraine.

“Firstly, it can be combined with Putin's statements that were heard before, which were that in fact they want Ukraine to negotiate directly with Russia.

But these agreements, and Putin hinted at it directly, included the import of Russian gas, "he said on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.

According to Vitrenko, the Russian side allegedly insisted that Ukraine buy "a lot of Russian gas" at an inflated price.

“And the result of all this was that we paid on average $ 5 billion more for Russian gas than we received for transit.

We don’t need such a continuation of transit, when Ukraine still has to pay extra to Russia, ”he added.

Vitrenko clarified that at the moment Kiev spends less money on all gas imports than it receives from fuel transit.

According to him, the Ukrainian side remains “in the black”, receiving money into the state budget.

On July 22, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said that the issue of the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine after 2024 will depend on the demand for fuel.
