For the operators of news sites in the United States there was an unpleasant surprise on Thursday: About older articles, for example from the Washington Post, New York Magazine, Huffington Post, Guardian, Boston Globe, Daily Telegraph or Russian Sputnik News porn films were displayed.

Originally, there were clips that matched the articles, contributed by the video service "Vidme".

The company disappeared from the market in 2017.

Their domain still existed, however, and in the meantime it took over the pornographic site "5 Star Porn HD", which now replaced the news films with its unambiguous offer.

Readers quickly noticed this, and a user calling himself @ dox-gay made the matter public on Twitter.

The news sites also reacted quickly, as reported by the Vice portal “Motherboard”.

They listed the now unsuitable videos that were fed in under "vid.me".

The embarrassing combinations that arose weren't long online, but of course they were recorded straight away, for example by the “Motherboard” tech department of Vice magazine. Fortunately for the serious news sites, the process only affected older texts, current pieces were not affected.
