As reported on the page of the regional government in VKontakte, at the moment there are 18 forest fires in Karelia.
“Currently, there are 18 forest fires in the region on an area of 10,926 hectares in Muezersky, Lakhdenpohsky, Belomorsky, Pryazhinsky, Segezhsky, Suoyarvsky, Kondopozhsky, Pitkyaranta districts.
Nine fires on an area of 4185 hectares have been localized, ”the statement says.
It is clarified that about 800 people were involved in the extinguishing: the Karelian forest protection center, tenants, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, fire service units, volunteers, FBU Avialesokhrana, as well as 31 people from the Arkhangelsk and Murmansk regions and 135 units of equipment.
Earlier, the federal Avialesokhrana announced plans to attract additional forces to eliminate forest fires in Karelia and Yakutia.
