In a note addressed to the prefects, the office of the Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin reports a terrorist threat still high in France, and asks the prefects to maintain a "high level" their vigilance for this summer, within the framework of the "partial resumption of economic and cultural activities".

Faced with the terrorist risk, the authorities want to redouble their attention.

According to information from Europe 1, instructions for increased vigilance were given to prefects across the country regarding the risk of attacks for this summer.

In a note from the cabinet of the Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin, released two days ago, it is thus mentioned that a threat is still high.

The prefects are therefore asked to maintain a "high level" their vigilance throughout the summer, within the framework of the "partial resumption of economic and cultural activities".

Internet threats

If this vigilance is requested, it is because France has again been the target of threats since mid-July from a terrorist organization, on the internet.

"The President of the Republic and the Minister of the Interior are explicitly targeted and cited," said the note. 

The cartoons of Muhammad are at the heart of this message described as virulent, just like last fall, in the midst of the trial of the January 2015 attacks.

The trial of the November 13 attacks is approaching

The authorities fear that the endogenous threat will be stimulated by these calls.

A threat that would come from our soil, and which is empowering, according to a security source, coming from profiles permeable and receptive to propaganda hostile to France.
