At six in the morning Swedish time, on Wednesday, Erik Holmer makes his debut.

He will be the second Swede after Isak Öhström to represent Sweden in canoe slalom in the Olympics.

- It feels incredibly cool to be part of the Olympics.

It has been a dream for so long and to see that dream come true is special, says Erik Holmer from Tokyo.

Best in the world

Fredrik Wahlén, who has trained a lot with Erik in the association Nyköpings Forspaddlare, says that the competition in the sport is fierce.

- They are the best in the world from each country but he should not think so much about it but just run his race, he says.

Clubmate Ludwig Andersson says that Erik Holmer's chances look good.

- I think many people are hoping for a semi-final and we definitely see the final as an opportunity, it will probably go well, he says.

"In top form"

And Erik himself is hopeful.

- The expectations are to see and learn for future games, but at the same time the recent competitions have gone really well and I feel in top form.

With a good ride, I know I can be fast so it is clearly a very inspiring situation.
