A woman was stabbed to death on the night of Thursday to Friday at her home in Le Souich, in Pas-de-Calais.

An investigation was opened for "homicide on spouse", we learned from the firefighters and the gendarmerie.

The help intervened a little after 11:30 pm, following "an intra-family brawl with three involved", including the victim, his spouse found seriously injured and a teenager, said the firefighters in a press release.

"The attacker used a knife," they said.

The unharmed 18-year-old and his 14-year-old brother were taken to Arras hospital in shock, firefighters said.

The suspect hospitalized with a vital prognosis

"An investigation was opened for homicide on spouse [...] and the findings are still ongoing at the crime scene," told AFP a spokesman for the gendarmerie this Friday morning, confirming that the victim had been killed with knives.

According to the gendarmes, "the victim was born in 1985 and her husband in 1987".

Firefighters had earlier mentioned a 40-year-old couple.

The suspect "was transported to the Lille hospital center with a vital prognosis," added this spokesperson for the gendarmes.
