"In order to preserve phytosanitary well-being and prevent the spread of a quarantine object on the territory of the Russian Federation, the Rosselkhoznadzor, from July 26, 2021, introduces temporary restrictions on the import of fresh tomatoes from the Republic of Belarus to Russia by the specified exporter," the statement says.

The ministry clarified that the restrictive measure will be in effect until the Belarusian side conducts an investigation and provides information on the measures taken.

In May, the Ministry of Agriculture increased the quota for the import of tomatoes from Turkey to Russia from 250 thousand to 300 thousand tons.
