China imposed sanctions on ex-US Secretary of Commerce

As stated in Beijing, the new sanctions will be a direct response to an earlier decision by the United States to impose restrictions on seven employees of the Hong Kong Liaison Office.

In January, it was reported that China imposed sanctions on members of the administration of former US President Donald Trump, including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
