A resolution urging the National Intelligence Service to find out the truth about illegal inspections and prevent recurrence has been passed by the National Assembly.

At the plenary session held after midnight from yesterday (23rd), the National Assembly passed a resolution of 'special resolution to disclose information on illegal inspection by national intelligence agencies, find out the truth, and prevent recurrence' with 217 in favor and 13 abstentions. .

The resolution said, "The National Assembly confirms that the NIS's illegal individual and group inspections and information crafting activities have been found to be true." Please apologize.”

It also contains content that demands that the National Intelligence Service "proactively disclose information that has nothing to do with national security and does not infringe on the privacy of third parties to applicants and organizations for disclosure of inspectorate information."

This resolution is the first resolution passed by the National Assembly Intelligence Committee, which is a relevant standing committee, prior to the plenary session.

In February, after SBS reported that the National Intelligence Service inspected all 299 members of the 18th National Assembly during the Lee Myung-bak administration, and related documents remained, the National Assembly began to discuss the matter in earnest.

The National Assembly Intelligence Committee said it is meaningful as it is the first National Assembly-level resolution to urge the National Intelligence Service to reflect on illegal information activities and prevent recurrence.
