[Explanation] On the centennial of the founding of the Communist Party of China, China’s goal of "building a moderately prosperous society in all respects" was announced as scheduled.

At this time, China's economic aggregate has passed the one-hundred-billion-yuan mark, and its share of the global economy has risen to more than 17%.

China, which has been on the periphery of the international order for most of the past two hundred years, is approaching the center of the world stage step by step.

Will China's rise have a fundamental impact on the current international order?

Who is the destroyer of the international order?

Recently, Zheng Yongnian, Dean of the Institute for Advanced Studies of Global and Contemporary China at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), accepted an exclusive interview with China News Agency on the "Question on East and West" to provide answers.

[Explanation] The so-called international order mainly refers to the international rules established after World War II.

Zheng Yongnian said that China can be said to be the "biggest supporter" of these rules. It has not "started anew" like the former Soviet Union, let alone a disruptor or a revolutionary.

According to Western logic, China must be so strong that it will form its own camp.

So the United States has been saying that I want to form a "world team" to deal with the "Chinese team".

There is no "team" in China, so how can there be a "team" in China. China is. I still stay in this system in a proper manner. Are there any "teams"? Forming cliques is what the United States does. China Where are you doing it?

[Explanation] Zheng Yongnian said that the United States has withdrawn from some international organizations and international coordination mechanisms in recent years. It is self-evident who is the disruptor of the international order.

So who is destroying the international order after World War II?

Is it the United States itself that is sabotaging? It should be during Trump’s term that WHO withdrew, the Paris Agreement, and some organizations of the United Nations have all withdrawn. Who is sabotaging?

China has always wanted to protect it.

[Explanation] Zheng Yongnian pointed out that Western countries engaged in colonialism and imperialism in the early days, and supported domestic development by establishing colonies in Latin America and Africa and plundering resources.

When China now invests and aids in Africa and Asia, it has been slandered by the West as plundering resources, and has even been labeled as "neocolonialism" and "debt imperialism."

This is the West’s own experience, not a Chinese perspective.

China is helping local countries build railways, highways, hospitals, stadiums, and schools. Why is China doing this?

Because these infrastructures are a necessary condition for a country's economic development, China itself has also come through this way.

How much does China contribute to the African economy?

What contribution has the colony made for so many years?

Therefore, the West has been criticizing China for "debt imperialism", "creditor's imperialism" and "neocolonialism" all day long. This is totally unreasonable and does not tell the truth.

[Explanation] Zheng Yongnian said that China is now the world's second largest economy, and it has also learned many good Western rules during its development.

In the next step, if China is to become truly strong, it must continue to digest and absorb the good rules in the world, and at the same time, in light of its own situation, improve, strengthen, and supplement the existing international rules.

So the next real contribution to the world is the contribution of the standard rules, but the contribution of these standards to the world, the contribution of the rules, the contribution of the standards, do not learn from the United States, that is, when you dominate the rules, you must take into account the contributions of all other countries. Benefits.

[Explanation] Zheng Yongnian believes that for many developing countries such as Africa and Latin America, China's rules and programs actually provide a non-Western, not anti-Western option.
