Wuhan commented on the possibility of leakage of COVID-19 in the laboratory

"The Wuhan Institute of Virology has never synthesized, created or leaked COVID-19," RIA Novosti quoted Zhimin as saying.

He also noted that "there is no evidence of the leakage of the coronavirus from the laboratory and that it was created artificially."

According to Zhiming, not a single employee or student of the institute has so far contracted a new coronavirus infection.

“There is a consensus among scientists that COVID-19 is of natural origin,” he said.

Earlier, scientists from China, citing an article in the journal Science China Life Sciences, stated that COVID-19 is of natural origin.

World Health Organization Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus admitted the likelihood of the artificial origin of the coronavirus through the leakage of COVID-19 from the laboratory.
