The night was busy for the Ille-et-Vilaine firefighters who intervened for two drownings.
Shortly after 3 a.m. this Thursday morning, they found the lifeless body of an 87-year-old man in the Trégu pond in the town of Plélan-le-Grand, southwest of Rennes.
Despite the care provided on site, the octogenarian could not be resuscitated.
It is a neighbor who had reported the disappearance of the old man a few hours earlier.
Around 7 a.m., the firefighters then went to the area of the ponds of Apigné in the town of Rheu where they discovered the lifeless body of a woman in her sixties in a small pond.
