The chairman of the committee of the People's Council of the DPR on foreign policy, international relations, information policy and information technology, Vladislav Berdichevsky, said in a comment to the Donetsk News Agency that such a move would draw Europe's attention to the crimes committed by the Kiev authorities in the Donbass.

“This move is now very strong - in Europe they know very little about what is happening here, and this will be one of such powerful messages for Europe: look, they say, what is happening under your nose - in fact, in the center of Europe, there is a genocide of the Donbass population” , - he said.

The representative of the LPR in the subgroup on political issues of the contact group on the settlement in Donbass, Rodion Miroshnik, in a commentary to LuganskInformCentre noted that the need to file such a complaint against Ukraine had been brewing for a long time.

He noted that such a step from Russia is welcomed in Donbass.

“Kiev’s actions in Donbass should have been given an international legal assessment long ago.

Impunity entails new crimes and violations of human rights, the division of people into those who have rights and those who have no rights, ”said Miroshnik.

The first inter-state complaint in Russian history, filed by the Russian authorities with the European Court of Justice, concerns a number of violations by Ukraine. Among those listed in the document is the responsibility of the state authorities for the death of civilians, illegal imprisonment and cruel treatment of people, including the events of the "Maidan" in Kiev, in the House of Trade Unions in Odessa and in the Donbass during the so-called anti-terrorist operation.
