“I condemn that the US State Department is exerting insulting and humiliating pressure on European countries, in particular on six countries in Eastern Europe and eight countries in Latin America,” the minister wrote on his Twitter account.
He also stressed that he rejects the baseless US government sanctions against General Alvaro López Miera and the National Special Brigade.
"The Global Magnitsky Act must be applied to them themselves for the daily repression and police brutality," Rodriguez added.
Earlier, the United States announced new sanctions against Cuba.
Restrictive measures apply to the Minister of Defense of the Republic, Alvaro Lopez Mieru, as well as to one of the divisions of the Cuban Ministry of Internal Affairs.
