He added that the sooner people are vaccinated, "the less the likelihood of the emergence of the so-called vaccine-free variant of the virus."

Semyonov made such a statement due to the fact that on the eve of the WHO director Tedros Adan Ghebreyesus, he warned of the threat of a more dangerous strain of coronavirus that could make existing vaccines ineffective.

Earlier, Semyonov expressed the opinion that mass vaccination could help stop coronavirus infection in Russia by the end of the second year.
