More than 80 young students from both sides of the strait set sail from this, starting a 6-day reading and exchange trip between Fujian and Taiwan.

  Yuan Junhua expressed the hope that young book friends from both sides of the Taiwan Strait can experience the Ba Min culture in the exchange of books; in the blend of love and affection, the power of youth will bloom.

  Fujian is an important province for publishing exchanges across the Taiwan Strait. It has taken the first steps in book trade, copyright transactions, and cooperation in the publishing industry with Taiwan, and has achieved fruitful results.

As the largest port for books to Taiwan, Xiamen has become an important window for cross-strait book and cultural exchanges.

  Sponsored by the Press and Publication Bureau of Fujian Province, co-organized by Fujian Publishing Industry Association and China Youth Exchange Association, and undertaken by Xiamen Waitu Group Co., Ltd., this event was organized with the theme of "Chinese classics, illuminating the future", and young students from both sides of the strait listened on site The wonderful lecture by Teacher Qin Xue from the Lecturer Group of Xiamen Municipal Committee and Wu Erfen, Vice Chairman of Xiamen Writers Association, shared his rich literary reading and creative experience, and built a bridge for youth reading exchanges across the Taiwan Strait.

  In an interview with reporters, Lu Shengquan, a young Taiwanese student from Taipei and studying at a university in the mainland, said that he likes reading and visiting Xiamen. He always hopes to get a deeper understanding of Fujian culture on the ground. This activity provides a good opportunity for students on both sides of the strait to interact with each other.   "Fujian has a rich historical and cultural heritage. I hope that this trip will make friends with books, learn more about the historical heritage, learn more about each other, and become friends," he said.

  The 6-day book tour of the 5th Cross-Strait Youth Reading Season, will visit the Yu Guangzhong Literature Museum, Fuzhou Sanfang Qixiang, China Shipping Culture Museum and other historical and cultural attractions in Fujian, experience the magnificent and beautiful natural and cultural scenery, and appreciate the long history of eight Fujian Historical and cultural charm.

  Young students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait will also create and publish a collection of works based on their visits and experiences.

  Since its inception in 2017, the Youth Reading Season on both sides of the strait has been successfully held for 4 sessions. More than 250 young people from both sides of the strait have become friends with books, read a book together, walked together, authored the same work together, held reading salons, lectures by famous artists, etc. Reading cultural activities, creating and publishing collections of works such as "Wen Zhi Xin Yu", "Dream Time" and "Cross-Strait Book Fate", creating a new mode of "book-based" exchanges between young people on both sides of the strait, and jointly inherit and promote the excellent Chinese culture.
