The leaders who will visit Japan at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics on the 23rd are expected to stay in about 15 countries and institutions so far, partly due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection.



Prime Minister Suga will meet with these dignitaries one after another from the 22nd.



On the 22nd of the first day, a meeting with Mongolian Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene, WHO = Secretary-General of the World Health Organization Tedros, and a meeting with Mrs. Jill, President of the United States Biden, are scheduled.



On the 24th, a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron ahead of the Paris Olympics and Paralympics in 2024 is being coordinated.



While face-to-face diplomacy is restricted due to the influence of the new Corona, Prime Minister Suga wants to build personal relationships of trust with VIPs in each country through so-called "Olympic diplomacy."
