On Tuesday, Pirkanmaa moved from the basic level of the corona epidemic to the acceleration phase.

The two-week incidence rate on Tuesday was 56 infections per 100,000 residents.

Tammerfest will be held in Tampere next weekend.

According to Matti Markkola, Marketing Manager of Nelonen Media Live, which organizes the festival, the transition to the acceleration phase will not affect the organization of the festival.

- Tammerfest's main event is a completely open-air event and we are required to have the safety facilities and hygiene issues required by the authorities in order.

According to the recommendations of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health (STM), there is no need to limit the number of participants in public events in areas of the acceleration phase.

Participants must avoid close contact with each other when there are more than 50 people outdoors.

- The authorities are watching us and we ourselves are extremely critical and we want to do our best to ensure that the festival is safe, Markkola says.

Markkola also reminds people of their own responsibility.

No one should come to the scene symptomatically.

The visitor capacity of the festival this year is about 70 percent of its normal.

The event is sold out.

Ilta-Sanomat and Nelonen Media Live both belong to the Sanoma Group.
