21 July 2021 The councilor of the Lega di Voghera (Pavia), Massimo Adriatici, was arrested, accused of having fatally shot a 39-year-old Moroccan nationality during a dispute. The incident happened around 10 pm yesterday, in front of a bar overlooking Piazza Meardi. The Carabinieri of Pavia are proceeding with the investigations to clarify the dynamics of the affair. Adriatici is councilor for security in the center-right council led by the mayor Paola Garlaschelli.

The 39-year-old was harassing some patrons of a bar when Adriatici called the police. The man overheard the conversation and started shoving the commissioner, who was holding his pistol, a .22 caliber, detained with a firearm license. Falling to the ground, Adriatici reported, a blow was launched, which hit the 39-year-old close to the heart. The 118 personnel, who intervened on the spot, took the injured person to the emergency room, where, however, his conditions worsened to the point of death. Adriatici is now under house arrest.

League: Tragedy of aggression, victim known to the police

From the first reconstructions, the Voghera tragedy would be the result of a response to an attack with an accidentally started shot. The victim was a person known in the city and the police for episodes of drunkenness and violence. Thus sources of the League in a note.
