Half of young people's nearsightedness: don't let the next generation become "little glasses" early

Recently, the National Health Commission held a press conference to introduce the prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents and the health of summer students.

Statistics show that in 2020, the overall myopia rate of adolescents in my country is 52.7%; among them, 14.3% of 6-year-old children, 35.6% of elementary school students, 71.1% of junior high school students, and 80.5% of high school students.

Although there are many nearsighted people around us, looking at the official data on the myopia rate of young people, I believe many people will still be shocked.

In the public's inherent perception, myopia mostly occurs in the middle school stage. After all, the academic burden is heavy, and the data does support this. The myopia rate of middle school students is more than 70%.

But we also need to see that the myopia rates of 6-year-old children and elementary school students are 14.3% and 35.6% respectively, showing a quite obvious trend of younger age. The age group that everyone thought is still far from myopia is gradually "falling." .

Children put on glasses prematurely, which not only affects their own normal life and study, but more importantly, it also affects the overall physical fitness and level of the people.

If the prevention and control of myopia in kindergartens and elementary schools is not done well, the overall myopia rate is very likely to increase further.

The prevention and control of myopia and younger age is imminent.

There are many reasons for the high myopia rate and the younger age, such as excessive eye use, excessive use of electronic products too early, insufficient time for outdoor activities, insufficient eye health protection measures, etc. The subjects involved are also diverse. Parents , Schools, students, health care departments, etc. Therefore, in order to prevent and control myopia and aging, it is necessary for multiple subjects to prescribe the right medicine from many aspects.

At a young age, the academic burden is generally not too heavy, and the reason for myopia at this stage, especially myopia before the age of 6, is mainly because the child has premature exposure to electronic products, such as watching TV for a long time, using mobile phones and tablets.

Young children, many organs, including eyes, are still in the stage of gradual development and perfection, and they are extremely susceptible to the influence of external factors such as excessive use of eyes to cause disease.

At this stage, parents should take the main responsibility, consciously keep their children away from electronic products as much as possible, let alone use mobile phones as an artifact to coax their babies.

You know, the "temporary peace" in front of Tu's eyes hurts the child's health.

After the child enters the school, the school must do a good job in prevention and control of myopia.

In terms of curriculum arrangement, homework assignment, and the popularization of eye health care knowledge, it must be raised to the same important position as teaching and grades.

Try not to use the Internet for tasks that can be completed offline, ensure that students have enough extracurricular activity time every day, and classroom lighting standards. These measures have been implemented in many places, but there is room for further improvement.

As a health care department, it is necessary to increase the knowledge of myopia hazards and prevention and control for parents and children. At the same time, it will introduce more measures to benefit the people in terms of vision inspection, early intervention prevention, and later treatment control. Hold up an effective protective umbrella away from myopia.

Eyes are the windows of the soul, and they are also one of the most important vehicles for children to observe and explore the world. At a young age, they become "hazy" because of myopia, and the world may be overshadowed by it.

The author is also a "big glasses", but the "intergenerational inheritance" state of the "glasses" obviously requires the stop button to be pressed.

In order for our next generation to become "little glasses" soon, it is time to take some concrete measures.
