Region Jönköping County has been notified of reduced deliveries of Pfizer Biontech's vaccine against covid -19 during weeks 31-34.

This means that the number of bookable times for dose 1 will decrease during the period.

At the end of last week, 52 percent in the age group 18-29 had either received the first syringe or had a booked time for it.

- There is clearly a will in this group to get vaccinated, says the region's vaccine coordinator Jonas Almgren.

He does not see any clear tendency for the younger ones to be more reluctant than the older ones to get vaccinated against covid-19, as has been reported elsewhere in the country.

Soon another age group will be admitted

From week 32, young people born in 2005 or earlier will be offered vaccines and the reduced deliveries will also affect the youngest age group, as Pfizer's vaccine is currently the only one approved for children up to 12 years.

Appointments are made based on access to vaccines.

In the clip above, you can hear what the reduced availability of dose 1 means, especially for the younger county residents, but also those in the older age groups who have not received the first injection yet.
