A bus that was not occupied with passengers caught fire in the Taunus on Wednesday morning.

The driver observed smoke from the middle of the bus while driving on federal road 417 near Hünstetten-Wallbach (Rheingau-Taunus district) and then parked the vehicle in front of a bus stop, the police said on Wednesday.

The driver was able to get off the bus before the fire.

The fire brigade put out the fire, the federal highway was closed for several hours.

A group of ten to 15 people seriously injured a 27-year-old in Wetzlar and then fled. The young person, who was out on e-scooters with a friend, drove past the group on Wednesday night in Gudensberg (Schwalm-Eder district) and started an argument, the police said on Wednesday. He threatened the group and waved a knife around, slightly injuring the 20-year-old. He also hit a 25-year-old in the face and then fled.
