In October 1937, China's Anti-Japanese Military and Political University welcomed nearly a thousand students. The director of education Luo Ruiqing organized everyone to dig cave dwellings by themselves and built a new school building.

　　Many of the senior cadres who returned to Yan'an from the front line were not used to living in the earthen cave dwellings in Yan'an and eating millet rice in northern Shaanxi.

Mao Zedong told these comrades: "It is unacceptable if you are not used to squatting in cave dwellings. The cave dwellings in Yan'an are the most revolutionary. The cave dwellings in Yan'an have Marxism-Leninism, and the cave dwellings in Yan'an can command the nation's anti-Japanese war."

　　In the earthen cave dwellings in Yan'an, Mao Zedong led the whole party to learn Marxism-Leninism and use Marxism-Leninism, and wrote a lot of works on the Sinicization of Marxism.

"Selected Works of Mao Zedong" (1991 edition) contains 159 articles in four volumes, and 112 articles were created during the Yan'an period.

　　The Yangjialing Central Auditorium in Yan'an, specially built to welcome the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China, is a combination of Chinese and Western architecture.

The exterior of the auditorium absorbs some elements of western architecture, and the inner hall adopts the arched support of the cave dwellings in northern Shaanxi.

Comrade Zhu De jokingly said that this is the first time that our party has convened a congress in a house built by itself.
