Today, Wednesday, Yemeni local sources reported the death of seven people as a result of the torrential rains in the governorates of Al-Mahra and Shabwa, in the east of the country.

The sources told the German News Agency (dpa) that the governorates of Shabwa and Al-Mahra witnessed heavy rains during the past hours, which caused torrential torrents in reefs and valleys.

According to the sources, the torrential rains since Tuesday evening have caused the death of five people in Shabwa and two in Al-Mahra Governorate, while searches for missing persons are still ongoing.

The National Meteorological Center had called on Yemenis to stay away from torrential streams and valleys as a result of the depression in a number of Yemeni governorates.
