Earlier this spring, two parents and an older son were arrested for abusing a 16-year-old boy who is said to have had a relationship with the family's 14-year-old daughter.

Last week, the three family members at Halmstad District Court were sentenced to between 20 months and two years and six months in prison.

On July 4, the family's 19-year-old daughter was also arrested on suspicion of arbitrariness with children.

The 19-year-old is said to have withheld his siblings from social authorities in Laholm who decided to take care of the family's minor children when the parents were detained.

Denies crime

In addition to the 19-year-old woman, three men are also in custody for helping to withhold the siblings from the authorities.

The 19-year-old's defender Malin Brandel tells Helsingborgs dagblad that the woman denies the crime.

The woman is considered an accomplice

On July 16, prosecution was brought in the case at Varberg District Court and then it was also decided that the woman should remain in custody until July 30.

According to chamber prosecutor Eva Lotta Swahn, the detention decision is based on the fact that the older sister is considered to be complicit in the crime of withholding the children from the authorities.

A release of her could also complicate the investigation, the chamber prosecutor told HD.

SVT Nyheter Halland has sought lawyer Malin Brandel and chamber prosecutor Eva Lotta Swahn.
