One could not expect that the Chinese government would comply with the request of the World Health Organization (WHO) and give its blessing to further investigations in China into the origin of the coronavirus.

From their propagandistic ammunition point of view, there is no reason for this: the virus came from an animal market in Wuhan;

the hypothesis that a research laboratory could be the place of origin is nonsense.

Basta communist style.

Beijing has not responded differently to the latest allegations of hackers: all malicious slander.

It should make those who take Chinese statements about the origin of the coronavirus at face value think that the WHO Director-General is demanding more transparency from China;

that he thinks it is dubious to “rashly” rule out the possibility of a laboratory accident - this is the only thing that is important.

After all, the man knows what the conditions of the first WHO investigation looked like - transparency and support for scientific clarification were nil;

in return there was nodding and obstruction.

In the face of millions of deaths and tremendous material damage, the world is entitled to clarification.

China's rulers would do well not to hide behind walls of propaganda ("conspiracy theories").

Because the costs of such refusal are not trivial either;

it's about credibility.
