Lavrov and Kerry had telephone conversations

This is stated in a message on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The conversation between Lavrov and Kerry took place on July 20 at the initiative of the American side. 

"The parties discussed the results of the visit of the US President's special envoy to Moscow with an emphasis on the importance of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the environmental area, joint preparation for the 26th session of the conference of the parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Glasgow," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Earlier, Kerry said that Russia and the United States have areas for cooperation that could help partially reduce tensions in relations.
